Cowan Gilmer Administrator Hello!! I am Cowan Gilmer, Chief Administrative Officer at Maple Grove!! I began my career in this facility in May of 2003. I worked as a volunteer under our wonderful Activities Sirector, “Starr”; I must say, it was definitely the greatest experience of my career thus far. After graduating from Radford University, I began working at the Cambridge House in Bristol, TN. I officially began my career in administration as an Administrator in Training (AIT) under Suzan Rich. The AIT is a structured program geared to maximize knowledge of operations throughout the whole facility; I spent several weeks learning every facet in each department. During the end of my AIT program, I traveled throughout the U.S., going as far as California, interviewing for the right administrative position. After interviewing for administrator positions all across the U.S., I settled in Madisonville, TN in the fall of 2007. I spent almost a year and a half at that facility before coming to Maple Grove. I have been the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Maple Grove since January 21, 2008. It’s great to back in the wonderful community of Lebanon, VA!! I have always amagined how great it would be to be the CAO of Maple Grove, but I didn’t think it was going to happen so soon!! Being at Maple Grove is GREAT and I love every minute of it!!! I would like to give a special thanks to all the staff who work at this facility, we cannot be great without each and everyone of you!! Thank you all so much!!! Drema Nolly Director of Nursing For over twelve years, I have enjoyed working in long-term health care. During these years, I have developed a real passion for the geriatric population. My experiences have been both rewarding and challenging. My first four years at Maple Grove were in the capacity of RN Supervisor. I spent the next three years as the Assistant Director-of-Nursing/MDS Coordinator. For the past five years, I have enjoyed my role as the Director-of-Nursing. My goals for the nursing department are always directed towards providing quality care in a holistic manner while maintaining a helpful and friendly environment. On a personal note, I am a wife and a mother of two. When not at Maple Grove, I enjoy relaxing with my family and trips to the beach. Dawna Eanes Director of Social Services Hi everyone! I became part of Maple Grove in December, 2007. My official title is Director of Social Services and Marketing, Admissions Coordinator. As the Director of Social Services, I make every effort to ensure Maple Grove is an inviting and exciting place. I encourage all residents and their loved ones, visitors, community members, and staff to come by my office, stop and sit down, have some chocolate and talk for a while. I firmly believe in a nurturing environment. As Admissions Coordinator, my primary function is to facilitate the admission and discharge process, making it as uncomplicated and positive as possible. The decision to place a loved one outside of the home, even temporarily, is an extremely difficult one, and can weigh heavily on everyone involved. My hope is that by providing knowledge, understanding and support, the transition will be an easy one for residents and their families. Wendy Gilbert Human Resources Hello, My name is Wendy Gilbert. My responsibilities include but not limited to Human Resources/Payroll/Accounts Payable. I came to Maple Grove with five years of experience in Human Resources/Accounting. Even though I have only been apart of Maple Grove since April 2008, I can honestly say I have been extremely welcomed and immensely befriended. I really enjoy my work, especially visiting with the residents and getting to know them. Maple Grove has welcomed me and made me feel like part of the family. I feel everyday is truly a blessing. My husband Chris and I have been married for 11 years, we have 2 wonderful children Alexis and Aidan. Barbara Osborne Food Service Supervisor Hello, My name is Barbara Osborne. I am the Director of Culinary Services at Maple Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lebanon Va. I have been a CDM , CFPP for 10 years, previously working at Skilled Nursing Homes in the Eastern South Carolina area. I am originally from this area and returned home about 2 years ago. Starr Puckett Activities Director My name is Starr Puckett. I am a Qualified Activities Professional / Activity Director / Community Life Coordinator and received this full title at VHCA conference July 2000 and June 2008. I am currently working on NCCAP National Certification. I hold an Associates Degree in Human Services. I have been with Kissito Health Care for five years. We hold a wide variety of daily activities for residents, families, community and staff to participate in such as crafts, games and large and small motor skill manipulations. Cognition games and tasks and orientation to atmosphere, time and date and religious functions are also included. Please do not forget our volunteer program which we hold in high regards. My impression of being an activity director was " playing games and painting all day.” That is a big part of what I do but there is so much more to activities than that. Looking at the big picture of how activities guides a persons day and how they may function as a person opened my eyes as to how important it is to be the guiding influence of the day. This is the main reason I love my job. I feel as an activities professional, I can take on the "FISH" philosophy and make someone's day, play, be here every day, and choose the right attitude. My job and responsibility is to help others and to know that God placed me here for this. Dennis Strong Maintenance Supervisor Bio coming soon! Helena Smith Quality Assurance Nurse Bio coming soon! Linda Smith Assistant Director of Nursing, MDS I am the Assistant Director of Nursing and the MDS coordinator at Maple Grove. I still longed to work in the nursing profession so I returned to college and received my RN degree. I enjoy working in long term care, however I will be returning to college to become a Nurse Practitioner. I am married and have two wonderful sons ages 15 and 17. I am a member of Calvary Baptist Church and I strive to be a active member of my community and have volunteered for numerous organizations. Jessica Jennings Medical Records Hello everyone!
